Community Engagement
Throughout this year, I participated in the Art & Humanities of Montgomery County’s first artist in residency program. The purpose of this residency allowed me to assist the county in providing art programming to enhance the well-being of the community through art. During my time with this cohort, I aimed to address the challenges of inequality by intertwining my art practice with the personal and social needs of underrepresented groups.
My work in this residency allows me to use creativity as a tool for healing, empowerment, and self-expression. I believe art has the power to foster connection, spark conversations, and create safe spaces for marginalized voices to. By merging artistic expression with community engagement, I hope to contribute to a more inclusive and supportive environment for those who have historically been overlooked.
